2022 Budget Act Comparison Chart

Ultimately, the 2022-23 budget included victories for both the Governor and the Legislature, as well as several compromises between the two parties. In an effort to explain how everything shook out, below we have provided a table that looks at what the Governor wanted to see in the budget, what the Legislature wanted, and what eventually made it into the final agreement.

While the linked table provides an overview of the various major pots of education-related funding included in the 2022 Budget Act, additional information about a lot of these investments can also be found in the K-12 Education Budget Trailer Bills (AB 181 and AB 182) and the Early Childhood Trailer Bill (AB 210).
