Over the past twenty-eight years CAWS has served as an information conduit for California IB schools and their communities and as a liaison to the International Baccalaureate Organization. To support the continued growth of the IB in California, the association has secured recognition and college credit for the IB Diploma from the University of California. It continues to legislate with the state to provide funding for teacher training for teachers in all four of the IB Programmes. Each summer CAWS provides authorized IB teacher training workshops for Diploma/MYP/PYP teachers. Authorized IB schools pay dues which in the spring are returned to those schools as CAWS Student of the Year scholarships. This is in addition to our CAWS Annual Scholarship Awards.which are given yearly to students, teachers and schools representing all four IB Programmes.
